guests always impressed
I found out about this dish long long ago when I ordered it at a hotel in Hawaii. I ordered it again in New york (that one had a bit of avocado on the top as well). My mom and dad saw mine and told me they ordered the same kind in Korea. I ordered them at a couple hotels in Chicago. Try the one inside the Conrad in Chicago- bomb. I ordered these babies in France too. Obviously I get them so much and they are served all around the world because they are a hit and many love them savory flavor of the salmon, onion and arugala combined with the crunch of the bagel or croissant and the fluff of the creme cheese or the avacdo. In any combo it is always so good.
I decided to make it for guests for a girls afternoon in for brunch and it was such a hit, I made them for my husband (who said it was better than the hotels) and then for another group of friends- a hit again.
Looks so fancy on a plate and feels so fancy in your mouth.
The best part is, no one knows how easy.
Get your fave croissant or bagel. Make sure you toast them and they are extra crispy. I like the spicy kind of bagel that has all the onion garlic and savory goodness on the outside. Butter them up and spread some veggies on top.
add onion and salmon. Also egg if you’d like or even avacado. In any combo the ONION is the only thing that can’t not be in the dish.
Now for the drink, a classic.
best classic (and spicy) bloody mary recipe:

Pour some celery salt onto a small plate.
Rub the juicy side of the lemon or lime wedge along the lip of a pint glass.
Roll the outer edge of the glass in celery salt until fully coated.
Fill with ice and set aside.
Squeeze the lemon and lime wedges into a shaker and drop them in.
Add the remaining ingredients and fill with ice.
Shake gently and strain into the prepared glass.
Garnish with celery and or lemon wedge

bon appetit.
You just describe my dream brunch, add a challenging hike in there and that my plan this weekend. I love smoked salmon, bagels are always a treat, and Bloody Mary’s are one of my go-to drinks I also like mimosas and bellini, but after a long Friday night or a long plane ride, Bloody Marys always does the trick.

that looks so good! what kind of spread did you use? Also is that some chili flakes you sprinkled on top? I don’t usually like smoked salmon because I think it could use some spice… never thought to use chili flakes!
