an oldie but goodie
When I say that- the meaning is two fold. Insta buddies, you might recognize this photo~ I wore this amazing structured yet buttery soft leather blazer last month before the big move. I went out with some close girlfriends, and hubby snapped a few pics of me before I headed out. Due to all the emails I got demanding more photos of that quick insta #ootd-leather-blazer-post I decided to pull them and share. So, back on topic~ when I say oldie, I’m really talking about the leather blazer. It is an AMAZING piece- not just for aesthetic reasons. My mother owned this blazer and wore it in her college days. I have a few photos of her sporting it with oxblood bellbottoms. My mother was pretty fabulous back in her day… well she still is actually. She always was and still is the fashionista. In high school, middle school, elementary school- my friends would always tell me how pretty they thought my mother was, and how fashionable they thought she was. I never thought otherwise myself, so I’m proud to own many items that she has handed down to me. This piece is one of my faves. Sorry 엄마, I can’t sport bell bottoms like you did, but I’ll do my own take.
This night I was feeling a little rocker chic so I paired the blazer with my helmut lang skinnies and platform suede pumps. Some gold touches and a quick romantic braid updo offseted the edge to add a little love and softness to the whole look.
I wonder how my daughters will sport this piece when I hand it down to them.
What pieces do you value highly in your wardrobe? For me the most coveted pieces I own hold extreme sentimental value.
leather blazer – vintage, from loving mom
You look so pretty with your hair up like that!
I love all of the things i inherited from my mom too. As you said, the sentimental value is the best part!

Wow, that is truly remarkable, such a great story! Your mum must be one really stylish woman! For you to be able to wear items that she used to wear and for them to still be so current, that is true classic style indeed! That jacket is such a beautiful piece, it’s definitely one that your daughters will be able to wear too! Great classic pieces and style never dies! On another note, I love the braid, so pretty, I agree it softens the rock chick look! Absolutely amazing, you looked incredible as always! <3 <3 xxx

Love that your combining the outfit with that braid updo! Totally agree with you about sentimental pieces. For me It can be anything like a cashmere cardigan in nude pink with gold cuffs from Chloe to a fluffy feather west from Zara. Or all my handbags, especially the big Luella in denim blue which I don’t use often nowadays but still have that sentimental value (ordering it online when feeling sorry for myself breastfeeding my first born in the middle of the night…) love Caroline
thanks caroline! xo!
That blazer is stunning!! How sweet that it was once your mothers:) Your hair is so gorg too, you should do a tutorial on how you did it.

What a beautiful piece with such a nice history! Your mother has exquisite taste and it fits you perfectly! My favourite pieces are also ones with sentiment. Mostly my Bouvier jewellery that my partner gives me or even some really cheap little presents from my daughter. Not wardrobe related but drawings she has done over the years which we frame and hang. They are truly precious!
Have a great weekend.

That is a gorgeous jacket and it made me smile to read how you’re wondering how your daughters woulds style it. That is so sweet xoxox
