monterey jack

perfect portions

Last week, I wanted to replicate the perfect “snack” time food, well for dinner- sliders or burgers are a fave in this house. With two young ones, the meat in a buffalo slider is so lean (healthier) and the size is perfect for children. It was a def a hit. The recipe is SO easy- try it, hope you and your family enjoy it as much as me and my family did!

Monterey Jack Buffalo Sliders

Recipe adapted from petitechef

You will need:

1 lb lean ground buffalo

1/4 tsp sea salt

1/4 tsp fresh ground black pepper
1 oz. Monterey Jack Cheese, shredded into slivers
3 tbsp whole-grain mustard
1 tbsp raw honey
6 small whole wheat dinner rolls
Fire up the grill or you can use your broiler.
Directions:
In large bowl, combine buffalo, salt and pepper, and cheese.  Divide meat into 8 equal balls, about 2 inches in diameter.
Grill or broil burgers for 6-7 minutes and then flip and cook about 5 more minutes until patties are firm to touch with no pink remaining in the center.
In a small bowl, stir together mustard and honey.  To serve, split open each roll and spread 1 tsp mustard mixture.  Top with 1 patty and arugula leaves.
Load them and present them however you fancy~ this is how I do it.

The perfect size + delicious.

Enjoy!

  15. I love this! I’m not a huge eater so this smaller sized burger is definitely my kind of thing. I’ll have to try this. I don’t think I can get buffalo meat so I’ll do either a beef or pork instead. Thank you for sharing!
