pure decadence in every bite
When something you find and want to try comes out AMAZING on a first try, you just know it’s a keeper. You know the type of recipe that I love- again and again I have said simple ingredients=perfection. Another type of recipe that I love are the ones with simplicity of course, with a disguised -wOw- factor. I have a really busy lifestyle, and also I have just always been the type of person that does things over the top, so when something is embarrassingly easy, well, I just can’t resist
Our family loves cheesecake, so when I found a NO BAKE, individualized portion sundae style of our fave treat I was ecstatic. My family was pretty ecstatic when they gobbled up their dessert within seconds.
The following recipe, (taken from the Italian Dish) is my tweeked version to suit our tastebuds.
makes 4 large parfaits or 6 smaller ones
1.5 pound of strawberries
3 tablespoons sugar, divided
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
2 tablespoons melted butter
12 ounces of cream cheese, room temperature
1/2 cup sour cream
2/3 cup confectioners’ sugar, sifted
omitted the Amaretto
1 cup heavy cream
mint springs, for garnish
Get the strawberries and a couple tablespoons of sugar, distribute the sugar evenly and set to the side.
Melt the butter and mix the graham cracker crumbs and 1-2 tbsp of sugar
then beat the heavy cream, cream cheese, sour creme, and sugar together in a bowl until it is a whipped heavy texture.
Start making some fun layers. I put the crumbs on the bottom, some cheesecake, strawberries, then repeat once more. Put a piece of mint on top and you are done!
a very easy, but extremely luxurious dessert.
every spoonful = pure bliss.
